Dreams and Nightmares, founded in 1986, is one of the oldest science fiction and fantasy poetry magazines in existence. DN is published three times a year, in January, May, and September. In 2004, DN made the preliminary ballot for the Stoker award of the Horror Writers Association in the Alternate Forms category. Each year, poems from DN are nominated for the Rhysling award of the Science Fiction Poetry Association. In 2004, a poem originally published in DN won the Rhysling.
