Ascendant by H. David Blalock {Sam's Dot Publishing}
Welcome back to Atlantis!
In the time before the sinking of Atlantis, the government of the southernmost island, Adylonis, is fractured among eight great Houses. Each is a sovereign entity jealous of its power and eager to exercise its ambitions over the rest of the island. However, the greatest city, Moorkai, is ruled by a neutral faction called the University, and the Atlantean Emperor’s presence on the island, represented by the priestly order of the Tialsar, maintains the balance of power through esoteric and political manuevering.
House Thran, in exile on the mainland for centuries for its support of the non-human races the Kel and Telmet, returns to claim its own after Andalarn Thran, Jarl (or ruler) of the House, appeals personally to the Emperor. The Tialsar, who had been in control of House Thran’s resources and secular position, are displaced and resent Andalarn’s return.
House Suum, blood enemy of House Thran even before the exile, is even more resentful of its return, as the two Houses are traditional opponents in the struggle for the Ascendancy, a title conferred only by the University on the pre-eminent House that equates to King of Adylonis.
So let the fur [and scales and skin] fly!
Oh, and did I mention there's a Wyrm in it the size of Wyoming?

Blood Coven by Christopher Fulbright and Angeline Hawkes {Dead Letter Press}
Limited to 100 copies. Saddle-stitched softcover chapbook. Published by Dead Letter Press.
On the filthy streets of Victorian London’s East End, a centuries-old evil is amassing its forces.
Only one man stands its way: a legendary vampire killer called the Catcher.
He’s been trained from childhood by a secret society within the Holy Church. He’s fast, efficient and totally professional. He’s also totally on his own … working undercover in the darkest quarter of the city … outside the law.
Can he succeed where those before him have failed? Not even he knows for sure.
Advance Praise for BLOOD COVEN:
“BLOOD COVEN is a grand, ghoulish tale of vampires and vampire hunters set in the seedy underground world of late 19th century England. It's an action packed ride as good battles evil and fangs fight knives in a last-man-standing free-for-all between the brood of an ancient vampire queen and the deadliest vampire killer in all London. Lots of fun for those with a taste for bloody adventure. My only complaint was that the story ended too quickly!”

What if you were the hero of a book and your author was kidnapped? Who would you turn to for help?
Charlotte Cauldron loves reading about Prince Peter’s adventures and knows everything there is to know about the Prince and his friends, the sorceress Juno Vanderspell and Frizzleroot the will-o-wisp. So when the Prince’s arch nemesis, Spartan Arrow, escapes the confines of the page and kidnaps the author, Horatio Alkazar, the Prince asks Charlotte to help rescue him. Now all they need to do is get some pirates’ cooperation, outwit goblins, slip past a dragon, and find Spartan’s tower (which would be a lot easier to do if he didn’t keep moving it).

Christina's World by Marge B. Simon {Sam's Dot Publishing}
Christina's World by Marge B. Simon is a themed sequence of speculative short stories inspired by Andrew Wyeth's painting of the same title. Here's what Mary Turzillo had to say about it:
“If you’re unfamiliar with the fiction of Marge Simon, you’re in for a treat with Christina’s World. And if you’re already a fan of her poetry and flash fiction, you’ll be delighted with this new experiment in narrative, where individual linked stories build to their own resolution, and yet form a brilliantly fulfilling story arc.
“Christina’s World recalls classic Bradbury and Murakami with a touch of Norman Rockwell’s homespun wisdom and Tim Burton’s weirdness thrown in; an unfurling of sweet homey narrative, dreamlike yet compellingly realistic in intensity.
“And her illustrations are much more than frosting on the cake. This book is a gem you’ll read and reread.”

Cloudburst by Tyree Campbell {Sam's Dot Publishing}
In the future the Earth is warmer, and the oceans have all but dried up. In small settlements on the ocean floor, the remnants of humanity survive— traders and raiders. The few remaining books feed the campfires. Monstrous lungfish inhabit the salt marshes and snare the unwary. Saltstorms across the salt flats destroy everything in their paths. Social divisions remain intact— men hunt and steal, women breed and struggle to preserve what little knowledge remains— and act as translators for the traders.
The finest of the translators is Praise, a woman of the Scarpers. Centime, of the Dobers, is her student. If the Scarpers and Dobers unite, there will be no need for translators, and Praise will lose what little independence her abilities command. She would rather commit suicide and die free . . . but Centime has another idea: to return up to the land, and to the stars that had been humanity's destiny.
Thus begins an impossible journey, fighting the raging tribes and the fury of the elements . . . for the very Earth itself seems to oppose the two women and the little band they have gathered

The Cold Ones by Elizabeth Donald {Sam's Dot Publishing}
No, it has nothing to do with Miller Time. The Cold Ones is a novelette [perfect bound, trade paperback format] by Elizabeth Donald, and refers to [gasp!] zombies. It's not just very good, it's . . . well, here, read what James A. Moore had to say about it.
Elizabeth Donald's The Cold Ones stands out from the crowd. Zombie stories are easy. Good zombie stories are more challenging and great ones, well, those are damned hard to find. The good news is you don't have to look any further than The Cold Ones to find one of the greats. A damned fine read and highly recommended.

Darkness, Darkness by Jane Gwaltney {Sam's Dot Publishing}
They say you are what you eat. What if you are also what you read? And what if the one you love is a dead ringer for the author?
Jane Gwaltney’s novella takes you into a maelstrom of madness where, just as the singer becomes the song, so too does the writer become the story . . . and the story of madness becomes the writer. Heavy with the flavor of Poe, this tale is a must-read on a dark night.

The DeadWalk by Stephanie Bedwell-Grime {Sam's Dot Publishing}
Classic sword & sorcery that will keep you turning pages until the wee hours of the morning. The protagonist, Riordan, has two missions in life: find the mythical Sword of Zal-Azaar, and use it to remove Prince Rau's what's-is [she doesn't like him, or the horse he rode in on]. Riordan is not quite a chick in chain mail--she has compassion and sensitivity, and courage . . . she's a whole character, and Bedwell-Grime's depiction of her makes us wish that truth was at least the equal to fiction.

Death Metal by Armand Rosamilia {Sam's Dot Publishing}
Death Metal is a dark fantasy/horror novella published in trade paperback format.
No one had ever connected Daniel as the brains behind seven brutal concept albums about Satanism and the dark figure Natas, but when a teenager quotes lyrics from his literary work, Daniel fears his 10-year old daughter, Missy, is in trouble. His fears are founded when she is kidnapped. The kidnappers want Daniel to complete the last three albums for his former band--and return him to the demons he had tried to escape. Daniel can save her, but can he save himself?
"Rosamilia jams the E-major of dark crime in Death Metal. That scream you hear is the electric-soaked feedback of scorching prose." ~ Scott Nicholson, author of Scattered Ashes and multiple Stoker winner
Death Metal is a sharply written tale that starts quick and works its way to an edge-of-the seat ending you won't forget. It's one of those stories you just can't stop reading. Bravo! Or should I say Rock and Roll! ~ Laura J. Underwood, Author of The King's Wind and The Green Women

The Dice of God by Tyree Campbell {Sam's Dot Publishing}
Tanner is a wanted woman. She is running from her past as a sex slave. . . She is running from herself.
When Tanner arrives at the backwater world of Cullen’s Lode, she wonders if her troubled journey is finally at an end. Cullen’s Lode might just be the place where she can start her life anew, a place that she might finally call home. But Tanner is different. Part human, part Motic, she stands out. There are skeletons in her closet, ghosts that never cease haunting her resolve.
For Tanner’s flight to truly end she must face the men who would bind her again to slavery for their own twisted pleasures, and rescue the girl who has been taken hostage to compel her cooperation. Only by confronting her past can Tanner save her sanity . . . and the lives of those who are brave enough to become her friends.
“. . . At heart The Dice of God is an adventure story. There are characters to love or loathe, locations that spark the imagination, and action and twists that will keep you turning pages. But as with any good science fiction, it is the groundwork that makes this book entertaining. Without proper character building, setting or smooth divulgence of information, any action and adventure can appear superfluous. But Campbell lays down the law well, and when The Dice of God takes off, readers please ensure the barrier is down and their arms are kept inside the car.” Edward Cox, MA, University of Luton, Author of The Relic Guild and Walking Like Morpheus.

A Dirge for the Temporal by Darren Speegle {Raw Dog Screaming Press}
Prepare for a decadant feast. A Dirge for the Temporal, Darren Speegle's second collection of fiction, bursts with sensations. Like Baroque architecture, plush velvet furnishings or the richest chocolate truffle dessert, Speegle's prose delights all the senses.
This collection heralds the return of the subtly crafted horror tale. A Dirge lingers on the dark mystery of the supernatural, creates the giddy feeling of fear mixed with excitement, that only comes from partial revelations, things half-glimpsed and misty.
Like H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allen Poe, Speegle's stories belong to the twilight hour, just after the glorious reds and golds of sunset have slipped away giving warning that total darkness is quickly approaching. Old world legend and gothic sensibilities lurk behind every corner. A world of aching beauty and impending doom awaits. Speegle's work is a rare treat to be savored.
"There is fantasy here, and horror to be sure, but there is also wonder, and a beauty of language that a lot of the fiction attributed to those genres lacks…there is a lot of bang-for-the-buck between the covers. A Dirge For the Temporal is a strong collection of surreal, literate fiction. Highly recommended." —David Niall Wilson, Cemetery Dance

Everybody Scream! by Jeffrey Thomas {Raw Dog Screaming Press}
Jeffrey Thomas first seduced readers to the world of Punktown through a short story collection of the same name, bending time and technology to create a futuristic world which felt more real than our own. Everybody Scream! continues the seduction with characters every bit as vibrant only this time each person's story collides with the others in a dizzying thrill-ride of a novel. This roller coaster tale builds to a peak of expectation then plummets, twisting and turning, a breathtaking juggernaut to the final chapters with plenty of screams and giggles along the way.
"The results are alternately hilarious and terrifying…As in his earlier works, Thomas uses techniques and ideas pioneered by Lovecraft to make caustic social observations about humanity, in particular our exploitation of other species." —Publishers Weekly

Irreconcilable Differences by James R. Strickland {Flying Pen Press}
In Irreconcilable Differences, James R. Strickland returns with his second cyberpunk thriller, once again giving readers a ride for their lives.
Rachel Santana is thirty-six years old. She’s an agent for Interpol Covert Services. Before that, she was an interrogator at the White Sands Reeducation Camp, following the breakup of the United States. Before that, she was a prisoner there. Before that, a Yankee, one of a group of corporate mercenaries trying to extract something like a victory in the Middle East. Before that, she was a United States Marine. She’s a survivor. A cop. A soldier. A destroyer. A killer.
Now, Robert Neil, Rachel’s boss and soon-to-be ex-husband, has implanted a digital copy of Rachel’s mind in Michelle Marie (Micki) Blake, a 16-year-old farmgirl-hacker in rural Kansas. The mission: Learn the local hacker ecology. Locate the dangerous new player prowling the rural networks. Destroy him. Take no prisoners. Leave no incriminating evidence. As covert missions go, it should be pretty simple.
There’s nothing simple, though, about being conjoined at the cortex with someone else.
There’s nothing simple about life on the farm, the life of a high school student, the life of a 16-year-old in post-United States Kansas.
And the rural hacker ecology is unraveling with new forces in play, new powers, new players. It will take all of Rachel’s experience just to survive. All of Micki’s skills as a hacker to dig for the truth. All of their combined abilities to put the pieces together, to find the real threat despite the web of deception and half-truth that surrounds both their operation and Copy-Rachel’s very existence.
And somehow, they have to avoid being grounded.

Meat Puppet Cabaret by Steve Beard {Raw Dog Screaming Press}
Meat Puppet Cabaret is a dark fantasy novel that restores the perverse sex, bad drugs and violent rock 'n' roll to contemporary folklore. It starts from a weird idea: what if Jack the Ripper were a demon summoned by the black magician John Dee to steal Princess Diana's baby Allegra from the scene of the car crash in Paris? What if Allegra were hidden in a children's home in East London, but then 14 years later escaped?
The novel follows Allegra's adventures as she quests to discover her true identity in a nightmare alternate England. She encounters King Charles in orbital exile, Stalinist bioplasma engineer Natasha Supanova, the conspiratorial Osiris Club, drug alchemist Eddie Boy Krishna, ex-DJ and reality TV showman Mark 23 and gangland queens the Karma Twins along the way before finally confronting John Dee in his hideout beneath Parliament Hill on Hampstead Heath.
This is a novel that takes the legacy of H. P. Lovecraft and updates it for a mediamatic technopagan world.

Migration of the Kamishi by Gaddy Bergmann {Flying Pen Press}
Migration of the Kamishi by Gaddy Bergmann is the first novel in the Feral World series, a science fiction, post-apocalyptic odyssey set 3,000 years in the future. Humanity has barely survived a near-extinction-level event - the collision of a major asteroid on Earth in the middle of the Twenty-First Century, complicated by the vagaries of global warming.
In Migration of the Kamishi,, Blake, the story’s central character, must lead the last remnants of his massacred tribe across North America in search of new lands. Along the way he encounters dangers, enemies and "Rubbletowns," the millenia-old ghosts of what were once gleaming cities.
The story is unique in that it offers an optimistic view of post-apocalyptic society, which has reformed into local tribes that depend on hunting and gathering. Gaddy Bergmann (Denver) is a zoologist and microbiologist, and he carefully crafts a world where the biosphere develops naturally in the absence of Man’s misguided management of the planet.

The Missionary by Sandra C. Stixrude {Sam's Dot Publishing}
Father Gabriel arrives on Altair Tertia, where three previous missionaries have failed to do God's work, including Father Julius, whom the natives tried to stuff into a tree. The natives look like winged angels without reproductive organs. And they answer to an authority that may be higher than Father Gabriel's.
So what's a missionary to do when he has to convert an entire planet? Not just the people . . . but the actual, whole planet.
It's a question of authority . . .

My Adventures As Brother Rat By Lin Yao, Dowager Queen, Land of Five Dragons by Lenora Rain-Lee Good {Sam's Dot Publishing}
Yes, that's a long title. Just think of it as BROTHER RAT. Under any title, though, this is still a great novel. Think "Mulan," if you will. It takes place in ancient China, a tale about a girl who passes herself off as a boy. Sherry Decker, co-author of the Rusty the Robot stories, says, ". . . a mesmerizing tale of an orphaned Chinese girl who quickly learns she stands a better chance of survival disguised as a boy, and adopts the nickname Brother Rat. Over the years she excels in many incarnations, as soldier, horse trainer, healer, and as tactful ambassador. Dressed as a beautiful young woman she attracts and marries a prince. Her adventures as his queen are both noble and daring. Brother Rat risks all for the lives of the kingdom and becomes a living legend. This is an exciting, epic story . . . once begun, it cannot be put down."

Nyx by Tyree Campbell (novel) {Sam's Dot Publishing}
Meet Nyx. She's alone on a remote world in the midst of an internecine struggle for resources. She's been ordered to kill someone who has not been identified. The nemesis who haunts her past is in charge of the opposition. An anthropologist wants her ass. A professional killer wants the rest of her. And she can't swim in the rivers.
She's a special operative with carte blanche to stack bodies like cordwood, if necessary, to accomplish her mission. Training and a dark past have emptied her of all emotions. Trust is a tool. Sex is a weapon. Loyalty is a blunt instrument. And there is no place whatsoever for sentiment in her work.
Until now.
Meet the Malasy. Lemuroid, humanoid, intelligent, sentient, sentimental. They are covered with chinchilla-like fur. Truth is a must in interpersonal relations, and erotic stimulation is the human equivalent of a handshake. Nyx has to work among them. Her life is about to change. It's dangerous, even fatal, to become her friend. But it is always fatal to be her enemy.

The late 17th/early 18th centuries marked a time of awakening, with the birth of institutions of higher learning, yet the most enlightened of that time spent their cognitive brilliance debating how many angels could fit upon the head of a pin. He was thought forever present on the earth, a wolf amongst God's holy sheep; watching, waiting for his chance to corrupt the faithful. Temptation loomed— witchcraft was actually practiced— and good men prayed hard for deliverance from Beelzebub and his foul minions.
Rachel Mapes is a Puritan woman who, upon accident of birth, receives an IQ of 160. She has a level of understanding that would take others years of book-learning to achieve. Riders of the Mapinguari by Gaddy Bergmann {Flying Pen Press}
Riders of the Mapinguari by Gaddy Bergmann is the final novel in The Feral World trilogy, a post-apocalyptic odyssey set 3,000 years in the future. Humanity has barely survived a near-extinction-level event – the collision of a major asteroid with Earth in the middle of the Twenty-First Century.
Riders of the Mapinguari takes The Feral World in a radically new direction. Blake and his friends have traveled through the Great Plains and are living peacefully in the Warmland, when they are attacked by an enemy quite unlike any they have ever faced before: the Terran army. Poised to conquer the Warmland, the Terrans not only greatly outnumber the natives, but they also have hundreds of mapinguari – giant beasts that can overpower anyone who would oppose them. Blake and his people must face them, though, if they hope to save not only themselves, but the entire Warmland.
The Feral World trilogy is unique in offering an optimistic view of post-apocalyptic society, which has come to consist of local tribes that depend on hunting and gathering. Gaddy Bergmann lives in Denver. He is an ecologist and zoologist, and he carefully crafted a world where the biosphere develops naturally in the absence of humanity’s misguided management of the planet.

In the not-too-distant future, a young reporter reluctantly agrees to interview an aging, senile, old man in the heart of the Florida Everglades. In the humid, swampy environment, the reporter is sure that there can be no story of substance to report here, but the old man reveals that, in the past, his love was so strong and so passionate for a woman that he stopped at nothing to get her back when the forces of war tore them apart. He became a hero and a coward. A lover and a fighter. A saint and a devil. In his quest to rescue the woman he loved, he turned into something that she could no longer love. Into the middle of this personal ordeal tumbles Cutter, a man from another world, sent to Earth to establish a breeding mission for his endangered race. He falls in love with an Earth woman, and must defend not only her, but also the future of his own people. The object of his alien affections, a young woman named Angel, finds herself suddenly thrust into a world of aliens and intrigue, and of a love that has far more dangerous consequences than she could possibly have imagined. Santitoro and Sparks draw you into a world where the lines between friend and foe blur until Cutter and Angel cannot even be certain of each other. If one race has to die so that the other may live, who gets to choose? Cutter? Or the woman he loves? Or will the choice be taken from them by others far deadlier and far more powerful?

Cadida's in trouble again. But then, when is Cadida not in trouble?
First, she gets captured by raiders and thrown into a cave to be sacrificed to a demon, which turns out to be a djinn named Bascoda, a rather clumsy genie who adopts Cadida as his mistress. Cadida manages to escape despite Bascoda's "help," but later returns to the cave to see if anyone else had been captured. She finds instead of a prisoner a rather lonely and pathetic demon who needs a new home. Then Baakir, a fire-breathing, talking, flying horse tells Cadida that his beloved Barika has been captured by pirates. Seventh Daughter by Ronnie Seagren {Flying Pen Press}
Set primarily in the Peru of 1937, Seventh Daughter by Ronnie Seagren is a character-driven Indiana Jones-style adventure fantasy. Exploring such conflicts as the struggle between duty and choice and between good and evil, it deals with the recognition that there will always be evil in the world and always, there will always be choices to make, joy and loss, triumph and sorrow.
The main theme of Seventh Daughter explores the risk involved in letting go of what we value most to attain a higher goal, just as a trapeze artist must let go of his bar to reach his partner. Security, personal freedom, hatred, even life itself—each of the main characters is challenged to risk such a choice.
Gil Orlov is born in the shadow of a solar eclipse, the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter. Her prime purpose in life, the goal of her clan, is defeating her great-grandmother’s Vision of the world in flames, reduced to a lifeless cinder. But the power she should have is muted or lacking. To further complicate things, an identical twin is born just as totality ends. Her aunts decide the second infant must be disposed of rather than risk contaminating their mission.
Gil and her sisters decide to travel to Peru to the hidden ruins of a hidden shrine called Killichaka — “Bridge to the Moon.” There, in the shadow of the solar eclipse of 1937, Gil hopes to regain her power. But her twin sister, Miriam, has other plans, and so does an evil entity that calls itself Supay. In Peru, that is the name of the devil. Miriam will do anything to usurp Gil’s legacy, and Supay is determined to defeat and corrupt Gil and ensnare her in its own dark designs.
Following Gil is her economics professor, Galen Williams, whom she had asked to be her guardian on this hazardous trek. He has demons of his own to battle — dark memories of his brother’s death and a broken dream, that both victims of the Great Depression. He is soon caught up in the treachery and peril of the journey to witness the seeming mystical power found in the shadow of the moon.

In walks a rich recluse who offers information that Glass was framed for the deadly accident. His mysterious Japanese sidekick — Wan Lee? The sultry blues singer — Merlot Sterling? The man-mountain bodyguard — Vincent Richmond? From the desolate streets of Industry City, Colorado, to a showdown in Chicago, Glass encounters death at every turn. As he’s pursued by two Mayan hit men determined to make him history, Glass must rediscover the self he lost years ago and face off against the one ghost he swore he laid to rest.

The Solar Sea by David Lee Summers {LBF/Hadrosaur Productions}
Humans settled the Moon and satellites orbiting the Earth were a common sight, but with the abolition of NASA, humans had no desire to go further and space exploration died.
Then, a technician from the Very Large Array, a radio telescope in New Mexico, discovers powerful particles orbiting Saturn's moon, Titan, which could be a new energy source. Strangely enough, following the discovery's announcement, whales around the Earth changed their songs overnight.
As scion of the powerful Quinn Corporation, Thomas Quinn builds a solar sail to find the source of these particles in Titan's orbit. He gathers the best and brightest team to pilot his craft: Jonathan Jefferson, an aging astronaut known as the last man on Mars; Natalie Freeman, a distinguished Navy captain; Myra Lee, a biologist specializing in whale communication; and John O'Connell, the technician who first discovered the particles. All together they make a grand tour of the solar system and discover not only wonders but dangers beyond their imagination.
Drawing on his experience as an astronomer, David Lee Summers has created a story that is both exciting and plausible, one that can be enjoyed by both the young and young-at-heart who enjoy looking at the planets on a clear night and dreaming of what could be.

Strange Magic by Gord Rollo {Dark Regions Press}
Wilson Kemp is a man living a lie in Billington, Pennsylvania. He's been in hiding for a long time, running from a terrible secret that has forced him to change his name, move to this small secluded town and abandon what had once been a stellar career. Once, he'd been a highly talented escape artist on the brink of fame and fortune, but now he's a broken down alcoholic scared of his own shadow. Mind you, he has good reason to be scared because his worst fear has finally caught up with him, and the sleepy little town of Billington is about to be declared a war zone.
With the aid of a malevolent evil entity trapped within an old wooden trunk, a stranger from Wilson's past has hunted him down; an insane fellow magician who will stop at nothing to get his twisted, bloody revenge. To survive, Wilson will have to conquer his own inner demons to fight his old enemy in a battle that will lead to the gates of death and beyond. To live, Wilson will have to accomplish the greatest magic trick of all time: escaping from the dark pit of Hell…
“Gord Rollo relishes turning his characters loose into a world very much like our own. Fear dwells within the shadows and corners of our own backyards, his vivid imagery striking and sometimes too close for comfort, tearing a hole in our reality and filing it with his uniquely dark vision. Strange Magic is a great book, a must read for all hardcore horror fans.”

Vocalizing in her own death metal band, she accepts a coincidence from her past and exposes her natural evil. TALES OF WEUPP: Little People Must Surrender by Ralan Conley, illustrated by Jesse Bunch {Sam's Dot Publishing}
For all her young life Myla Trogsen has lived a lonely, isolated existence. Afflicted with a rare genetic disorder, she must use a wheelchair or motorized scooter to get around. Home schooled by her mother, she is constantly reminded by her that in times of trouble, "Little people must surrender."
Now, two years after her parents untimely deaths in a car crash, she sometimes feels the need to visit the nearby town, even though it almost always makes her feel embarrassed, frustrated, angry, and even lonelier. But this time a near accident with a truck literally blows her off the road and into another world.
The people she meets all look like her -- small, white-haired, and older than their age, in fact they see her as beautiful. Do they suffer from the same disease as she? The planet itself seems to be a living entity and may have summoned her for some reason. But what is it? The people of a remote village are being held captive by the Zyots, a hulking warrior race. How can she rescue them?
And weirdest of all, her motorized scooter now performs like a souped-up four-wheel-drive ATV. And doesn't seem to need a recharge -- but for how long?
Unlike her home world (or is it?) of Earth, in the magical world of Weupp, she fits right in ... and there's also a prince to rescue.

Temple: Incarnations by Steven Savile {Apex Publications}
A man awakens in a filthy bedroom with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. Seeing an old Gideon bible on a nightstand, he finds a name to call his own – Temple. This is the story of Temple’s quest for identity and purpose in a dying, decaying world.
By turns heartbreaking, enlightening, and surreal, British fantasist Steven Savile has created a story that T.M. Wright describes as “a story about Death written by a man who has clearly consorted with devils.”
This novella comprises the four part Temple series published in Apex Digest issues five through eight, with a special introduction from T.M. Wright and an afterword from the author.
Only 100 hardcovers were produced, each numbered, and signed by Steven Savile, T.M. Wright, and cover/interior artist Judi Davidson. An unsigned, unlimited trade paperback version is also available.

Trials of the Warmland by Gaddy Bergmann {Flying Pen Press}
Trials of the Warmland by Gaddy Bergmann is the second novel in the Feral World series, a post-apocalyptic odyssey set 3,000 years in the future. Humanity has barely survived a near-extinction-level event - the collision of a major asteroid on Earth in the middle of the Twenty-First Century, complicated by the vagaries of global warming.
In Trials of the Warmland, Gaddy Bergmann continues the odyssey of Blake and friends, the last remnants of the Kamishi tribe. They have reached the Warmland, but now they find that the Warmland is not the paradise they thought, and making it their home is not easy. There is no respite from danger, and now a new adversary, the Lunari — descendants of those few who escaped the apocalypse by colonizing the moon — have returned to Earth with ideas of their own.
The series is unique in that it offers an optimistic view of post-apocalyptic society, which has reformed into local tribes that depend on hunting and gathering. Gaddy Bergmann (Denver) is a zoologist and microbiologist, and he carefully crafts a world where the biosphere develops naturally in the absence of Man’s misguided management of the planet.

The Two by Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc {Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc}
Pressley Barclay is a successful author with a large cult following. He also has a massive case of writer's block to go with that success. Pressley knows that the key to breaking his writer's block is to get out of Greater London and to the quiet countryside. Pressley purchases his dream home, an expanse, sprawling mansion in the town of East Dean, and at a steal...but did Pressley get the bargain that he thought he did? His house ends up being more of a hell than a Heaven, and Pressley has no idea the wicked and shocking secrets his house holds.
Exploring his subbasement, Pressley finds the mirror. Obviously someone went to a great deal of trouble to hide the mirror. Pressley's curiosity with the mirror finds him in an alternate realm, a dark and sinister realm, so much like his own world, but devoid of any life. Taking refuge in a spooky mansion, it is then that Pressley finds "them." Like daylight and dark, the men are both enigmatic and sad. Who are they? Pressley is in for the survival lesson of his life as he battles the elements and tries to solve a mystery spanning four centuries. Will Pressley be able to solve the mystery and find his way back home, or will his spirit be the next one trapped in a house of evil apparitions and lost souls?

Unholy War by Matt R. Jones {Matt R. Jones}
Leave the cliches at the door. Got it?
Now shut up, get in, and hold on.
Unholy War chronicles the battle between the ferocious fanged champions of Hollywood and the bloodthirsty zealots of the tyrannical Crimson Order, led by a mad megalomaniac whose goal is the utter destruction and subjugation of the 'impure heretics' of the city. The stakes are high, no quarter will be given, and when the dust settles, only one side shall remain standing; the victors will have the city, while the losers will have death ... this unholy war is for keeps.
A nitro-fuelled hellride of a vampire novel, Unholy War eschews the all-too-familiar conventions of many vampire tales and instead fuses action, adventure, horror, irreverent humor, and rock 'n roll to create a truly modern vampire story that stands out from the pack of "me-too!" bloodsucker yarns. Immortality rocks.

Vampires of the Scarlet Order by David Lee Summers {LBF/Hadrosaur Productions}
Through the centuries, an elite cadre of vampire mercenaries called the scarlet order has operated as pinpoint assassins. Now, at the dawn of the twenty-first century, vampires are too expensive, too untrustworthy, and frankly, too passe for governments to hire any longer. Using nanotechnology, scientists can engineer more reliable super soldiers. What's a vampire got to do for job security?
Neal Asher describes Vampires of the Scarlet Order as: "A novel with bite. An amalgam of Blade and The Name of the Rose with a touch of X-Files thrown in for good measure."
